At amphos, we’re proud to be delivering Scotland’s first megawatt-scale eTruck charging hub at John G Russell Group in Glasgow. To support this, we have partnered with Optimo Energy to provide the charging and energy management platform that will underpin the site’s operation.
This project brings megawatt charging into real-world logistics operations, enabling heavy vehicles to charge from 0–80% in just 31 minutes. It’s a major step forward for the decarbonisation of commercial transport, not in theory, but in practice.
What makes this project particularly exciting is how intelligently the infrastructure has been designed. With real-time charging optimisation, active energy constraint management, and access to flexibility markets, this isn’t just about powering vehicles; it’s about building commercially resilient, future-proof operations.
Arron Dowie, CCO at amphos, said:
“This is exactly the kind of project we love being involved in. It proves that fleet electrification can be operationally robust and commercially smart at the same time. Working alongside Optimo and John G Russell Group has been a genuine pleasure, and it’s exciting to see megawatt charging move from concept to reality.”
Danny Homoki-Farkas, Founder of Optimo Energy, added:
“Projects like this show what’s possible when energy, software and fleet operations are aligned. We’re incredibly excited to be working with amphos to bring megawatt charging to life and demonstrate how electrified fleets can unlock real operational and commercial value.”
Fleet electrification doesn’t have to be a cost centre. Done properly, it can protect uptime, reduce costs, and create new revenue opportunities, without compromise. And this is only the beginning.
